Beneteau 281 Clipper for sale in Kent:
"La Mouette" built in 1999 is a great example of the very popular Beneteau 281 Clipper. She is an excellent family/couples’ cruiser. This Beneteau Oceanis 281 Clipper is a very clean-cut tidy vessel. Sleeping 4 adults and two juniors, or six adults at a pinch. She has a light airy saloon below, and well quipped galley, good sized heads with a holding tank. All lines are led aft to cockpit for ease of sail handling. A very well maintained vessel with standing rigging replaced 2023. An early viewing is recommended.
Accommodation :
This Beneteau 281 Clipper has a very light and airy feel below decks. The Forepeak has a double berth with opening deck hatch with storage beneath the berths. The forepeak can be closed off from the saloon by drawing the curtains across and thus makes an ideal berth for two juniors.
Aft of the forepeak is the saloon which has two settee berths with storage beneath and behind. There are large port holes which again makes the saloon feel light and airy. The is a central saloon table with folding leaves. The saloon table can seat six people. The saloon has a 12v TV/DVD player and Stereo/CD player. The yacht has designer phoebe fabric throughout.
Aft and to Port is the galley which has a single stainless steel sink with pressurised hot and cold water. Water heated by the engine and 240v immersion heater. It has a 2 burner hob with grill and a 12v fridge. There is good storage space in the galley.
Opposite is the navigation station which has a reasonable sized chart table with space for an array of navigation instruments and storage for pilot books.
Aft of the navigation station is the Heads which has a marine toilet with 20 litre holding tank, washbasin with hot and cold water and a shower.
Aft of the galley is a large aft cabin with a double berth, hanging locker. It has two portholes which again makes this cabin light and airy.
Companionway steps lead up to the cockpit which has seating for six people and good lockers for fenders and dinghies etc.

History and Construction:
This Beneteau 281 Clipper was built in 1999. It has a white GRP Hull and superstructure with mounded non-slip decks with teak cockpit seats. It has a cast iron fin keel and balanced spade rudder with tiller steering. The yacht was last out of the water in the spring of 2023 when it was antifouled, hull polished and anodes changed. The gas system was also checked at this time. The yacht has been owned by the current owner for the past fourteen months and is only being sold as he is moving away. She is presented in very good condition.

Sails and Spars:
Bermudan sloop masthead rigged yacht with Z-Spars Aluminium deck stepped mast and boom with manual backstay adjuster. Stainless steel standing rigging replaced 2023 along with the running rigging. All lines led aft to the cockpit. It has a battened mainsail with 2 slab reefs and a furling headsail, It has a lazy bag with stack pack.

Mechanical Systems:
This yacht has a Volvo MD2020, 19HP 3 cylinder, indirect cooled diesel engine with Morse controls which has approx. 1,000 hours use. The engine was last service by the owner in Spring 2023. It has a shaft drive to a 3 blade fixed propeller that has a rope cutter fitted. It has a 20 litre plastic fuel tank and will cruise at approximately 6 knots and a maximum speed of 8 knots.
Electrical Systems:
It has 2 x 12v batteries. 1 x 130 AH domestic battery approximately 12 months old and 1 x 75AH engine start battery approximately 10 years old. The batteries are all charged by the engine alternator and via a 240v battery charger. It has a 240v shore power system with a ring main with sockets in the cabins and a 240v immersion heater.
