Description
"LIQUID LUCK
" is an adrenalin fuelled carbon race yacht designed by the renown Kiwi architect, Greg Elliott, and masterfully built by the experienced Auckland boat builder, Dave Ward. The ELLIOTT 30 Sport
design brief was for a fast short-handed racer, with a pair of 500 litre water ballast tanks, carbon rig and a drop keel to allow easy port access but a highly efficient 2.6m draft with the 800kg bulb keel locked down when sailing.
The whole lightweight package (less than 2000kg all up) ensures sparkling performance with a manageable sail wardrobe. If sitting at effortless boat speeds in the high teens in 15-16 knots of breeze is your thing, then this Elliott 30 Sport is for you!!
Features
Nanni 21hp shaft drive diesel inboard engine
GORI folding race propeller
Drop keel with 800kg bulb operated with electric hoist
Draft is 2.60m when keel locked down for sailing, and 1.40m when in the up position
Distinctive chined hull with a narrow waterline beam, extends out to place water ballast tanks as far outboard as possible, and providing oodles of form stability when heeled
Twin rudders (hung under hull)
2 x 500L water ballast tanks, each with its own swivelling retractable scoop and electric pump. Stailess steel valves.
Carbon hull construction has resulted in a super stiff structure, well able to rigidly handle the rig loads, all transforming into extra speed.
